Wizard Selected by ARV Assisted Living to Automate Management
at 60 Communities
ARV Staff to use A.L.Wizard software to perform resident
assessment and develop service plans
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – September 10, 2002 –
A.L.Wizard, Inc. today announced that ARV Assisted Living of Costa
Mesa, Calif., has chosen A.L. Wizard’s assisted living software
to automate and streamline operations at its 60 communities located
in eleven states. A.L. Wizard is an affordable software program
that provides comprehensive tools for the management of assisted
living operations, including resident services, staffing and cost
analysis.
ARV’s communities, which serve seniors who
may need assistance with the activities of daily living, will
use A.L. Wizard to improve the efficiency of the day-to-day functions
of managing resident care. The intuitive software automates the
process of conducting a thorough assessment of resident needs
and generating a comprehensive service plan, while accurately
tracking costs at the hands-on level.
According to Abdo Khoury, president and chief
financial officer of ARV Assisted Living, “We went through
an extensive evaluation process before selecting A.L. Wizard to
enhance the management capabilities for our assisted living operations.
With its superior ease of use and natural integration with our
daily tasks, our staff can quickly reap the benefits of its automated
assessment tools. This software, like many other programs we use,
complements our objective to provide our employees with the best
tools available to service our residents. Our commitment to training
and technology is evidenced through the many initiatives we have
undertaken over the last several years.”
Using a monthly
subscription model, A.L. Wizard hosts and delivers its software
to assisted living communities via an online network. With this
method, assisted living administrators can monitor resident care
in their communities with minimal upfront capital expenses and
predictable costs. In the case of ARV, the company will host the
software at its Costa Mesa headquarters and distribute it directly
to its 60 communities via the company’s network.
“We’ve
worked hard to ensure that our software provides the information
our customers need to deliver high quality resident care and profitably
run their business, while being extremely user-friendly,”
said Rose Lochmann, president and CEO of A.L. Wizard, Inc. “This
vote of confidence from ARV validates our efforts and assures
us that we can continue to meet the needs of the assisted living
industry for many years to come.”

Kisco Retirement
Communities Selects A.L.Wizard Software to Manage Resident Care
Kisco's 13 communities implement A.L.Wizard to improve efficiency
of operations
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - September, 2002 - A.L.Wizard, Inc. today announced that Kisco Retirement Communities will implement A.L.Wizard's assisted living software in all 13 of its communities. Incorporating nursing concepts into a social/residential model, A.L. Wizard makes it easy for assisted living staff to perform resident assessments and develop service plans. By streamlining operations and accurately capturing costs, A.L. Wizard improves efficiency and promotes quality of care.
Headquartered
in Carlsbad, Calif., Kisco Retirement Communities currently owns
and manages 13 campus-style communities, representing more than
2,300 units. Kisco offers warm, family-like environments with
superior services and a variety of options to accommodate the
personal needs of its residents. President and CEO Andy Kohlberg
and his staff looked for assisted living software for three years
without finding anything that met their needs until they selected
A.L. Wizard after piloting it in two of their communities.
"Kisco is excited about the A.L. Wizard program because it simplifies the resident assessment process and generates customized service plans to provide specific care needs for each resident," said Kohlberg. "This will enable Kisco to improve our operations and enhance efficiency while delivering personalized care to our residents."
The heart of A.L. Wizard is the "Resident Manager", an automated, comprehensive assessment tool. This tool automatically generates service plans directly from the resident assessment and gives the staff the ability to track changes in residents' needs as they occur. It then goes a step further and identifies non-tangible or "hidden services" that are often not captured as billable costs.
A.L. Wizard uses a subscription model to deliver software to assisted living communities. With this unique method, senior housing administrators can cost-effectively manage and monitor resident care in their communities with minimal upfront capital expenses and predictable IT costs.
"We designed the program
to make it easy for communities of all sizes to implement,"
said Lochmann. "By placing the application on our secure
system and charging a reasonable monthly fee, customers always
have access to the most up-to-date version of the program."
